Updated: Apr 3

Have you been thinking about choosing the right hair extensions? Well let's see if raw Cambodian hair is right for you.

So you've heard about Cambodian hair on various occasions, however you may be quite unaware of the features, characteristics and proper ways of maintaining this type of hair. No worries, we're here to help you understand a little more about this type of hair, as we want you to make the right choice when purchasing your extensions.

Raw Cambodian hair is soured from Cambodian women and collected by hair factories. It usually comes in two forms: long and short hair. Raw Cambodian hair from Cambodia can be divided into three types: straight, wavy and curly. It’s hair texture is a mix of Vietnamese and Indian hair, however, it is notably much coarser than the strands of the aforementioned.

CHARACTERISTICS AND FEATURES OF CAMBODIAN HAIR

Firstly, and most importantly, Cambodian raw hair's texture very coarse since the Cambodian people’s hair aren’t fully straight like Vietnamese hair. Raw Cambodian hair from Cambodia is wavy and curly, but this characteristic is absolutely perfect if you want to create curly hairstyles.

Because raw Cambodian hair from Cambodia is sourced from healthy women and has not undergone chemical treatment or bleaching, the cuticles are still intact and running in the same direction allowing it to not tangle or shed. Cambodian hair is generally in quite good condition due to the fact that women from this country frequently use all-natural herbs to wash their hair.

MAINTAINING CAMBODIAN HAIR

Hair must be washed every1-2 weeks.

Apply a moisturizing conditioner after shampooing your hair, and a deep conditioner every 2 to 4 weeks.

Because the Vietnamese raw hair is made of 100% human hair, it will positively react to deep conditioning, fix the follicle and also recover the level of smoothness and shine.

Use a heat Protectant when applying heat.

GRADES OF CAMBODIAN HAIR

Unlike Chinese hair factories, Cambodian vendors don’t separate their hair into A8, A9, or A10 grade. Similar to Vietnamese and Indian vendors, they divide hair into two grades: single drawn hair and double drawn hair. Some of the factories even use the 3rd grade also known as single-donor hair. These grades differ in the quality and length of the hair.

  • Single Drawn Hair: Single Drawn hair means the extensions contain multiple lengths of hair mixed into the extensions, resulting in hair that is thickest at the top, tapers at the middle and is thin on the ends. In this grade, 40-45% of the hair is of the same length, and the rest is the mixed length. This hair comes from multiple donors.

  • Double Drawn Hair: Double drawn hair contains hair that is all the same length. The hair is thick and full from top to bottom. For the double drawn hair, 60-65% hair is of the same length, and the rest 40-35% is of mixed length. This hair also comes from multiple donors, but not as much as single drawn hair.

  • Single-Donor Hair: Single donor hair basically refers to the hair in which the weft is completely consistent and sourced from one individual donor. All of the hair on each weft or tape is obtained from one single person. This type of hair is of superior quality because all strands are uniform, alike, and picked from selected donors.
